This course will allow your young chef to tackle weekly baking challenges, testing their creativity, technique and ability to problem solve. My approach to teaching kids to cook is to provide a safe place for them to express themselves creatively, make mistakes, ask questions and learn new skills. I have high expectations when it comes to kindness, respect and safety. Working in teams provides kids with opportunities to learn from each other and take leadership roles. They also are responsible for their stations and learn the importance of keeping their work space clean and organized. Each week they will learn new skills and recipes including, cookies, muffins, scones, quick breads, brownies, cakes, pastry, cupcakes, baklava and more. The kids will also have an opportunity to play with the goats and chickens. I often am in contact with national cooking shows who are looking for new kids to audition, this is a great course for young chefs with big dreams to get started in that direction.
If you know of a high school student who is looking for volunteer hours, I offer spots for assistant chefs who can log volunteer time helping teach and working with livestock (goats and chickens).
Cancelation Policy: Full refund up to August 10th. After August 10th, if you find someone to fill the spot or I find someone then you will receive a full refund. Special circumstances are handled on a case by case basis. I do my absolute best to make sure that everything works out. Please contact me with any questions at all. Because coats will be ordered by August 10th and are customized, the amount for the coat will not be refunded.
Contact me about any food allergies before registering for the class to make sure we can create a safe environment for your child
