I learned this recipe while baking for a restaurant in West Cork Ireland. The baker used coffee mugs for measurements, so I continue her tradition. Use a standard mug- not an oversized one.

Ingredients
5mugscoarse wheat flour
2mugsquick oats (or place old fashion oats in a food processor and pulse a few times)
large pinch sea salt
2tspbaking soda
2lumpsbutter
2pintsbuttermilk
Instructions
Preheat to 375 and grease 2 loaf tins
Mix together all ingredients, stirring in buttermilk last. Bake for about 1 hour and then turn upside down in tin to cool for 15 minutes.
