Chocolate Covered Strawberries (and other fruit)- February 7th

February 7th

Chocolate covered strawberries are easy to make but cost a fortune to buy so I wanted to offer a chance for everyone to learn how to make their own to enjoy this Valentine’s Day (or whenever you like!).  You can use any fruit for this too.  The recipe includes instructions on how to temper chocolate and for those choosing to go that route instead of using compound chocolate (almond bark, melting wafers, and some brands of chocolate chips). If the product has cocoa butter in the ingredients instead of an hydrogenated vegetable oil, then tempering your chocolate will be needed for a professional looking final product.  HOWEVER, if you are just making these to enjoy yourself and don’t feel like going through the effort of tempering the chocolate, then you can simply melt it like compound chocolate- just know that it may not look as glossy as you would like.  But it will taste just as good!

For this class, I won’t make people wait around while I temper chocolate, I will though explain the steps because I believe it is a good technique to at least learn about as you will come across it in recipes.  I hope to have my chocolate midway through the tempering process at the start of class, but in reality, the timing of that would be a bit too impressive, so I will most likely be skipping tempering as these will be for my family.

After each class, I will post a picture on instagram/Facebook for you to then post a picture of your creations.  It may seem silly, but those pictures mean a lot to me and it’s been so fun watching your food photography skills advance!

Classes will stream live on my FB page so make sure you have “liked” or “follow” the page now to easily find the video! Videos will be available on demand there as well.   By joining the zoom class, you are able to ask questions and I am able to help you problem solve in real time.  I do not charge for these classes but donations are truly appreciated as these take significant time and ingredient cost.  If after the class, you find value and wish to donate that is awesome.  If you cannot afford to donate, but enjoyed the class, I ask that you share the links on your own social media or with friends and family and help me grow that way.  Venmo: @Becky-Schmooke or PayPal [email protected]

Do not register on this website but directly on zoom. You should receive an email after registering on zoom below, if you don’t receive one, please double check your email is entered correctly and your junk email box.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I can only host 100 people at a time in the zoom class which is why I live stream on FB too and you can watch on demand at any time.  The cost to upgrade to a more expensive zoom account would make it harder for me to continue these free classes.  Zoom allows more than 100 people to register as some will not show up for the class, if you want to make sure to get into the class, enter the waiting room earlier in the day if possible!

I need your help in growing these free classes so a big thank you again for sharing it with others no matter where they live!
