DUE TO THE GROWING WAITLIST, I HAVE ADDED FAIRY GARDENS TO THE KINDNESS GIFT MAKING CAMP ON JUNE 17Th.  You may still register to be on the waitlist for this camp, but if you would like to have a secure spot in a fairy garden making camp register for the new camp HERE.

Ages 5 and up.

NOTE: There is something I take pride in, and that is creating an environment where kids of all ages thrive.  Younger kids get to look up to older kids, and older kids get to play the role of leader. In school and sports, kids are only with those of similar age and we have denied them the opportunities to learn how to interact with those younger and older.  However, I also am very aware that many older kids have zero interest in being in a camp where there are younger kids, which can make it a hard sell as a parent.

In these all age camps, I do divide the group up to make sure older kids are challenged in the kitchen and with the themed activity.  Is it more work on me? Sure.  But I truly believe it is worth it, because I have seen the awe in younger kid’s eyes when they see an older kid accomplish something they can’t yet do, and the confidence soar in older kids as they realize they get to be a leader, a teacher and a mentor to those younger. Best of all, when you have kids of multiple ages, this means a one stop drop for you!

Fairy Garden Camp

Paige from Charli Dean Designs, who does the jewelry parties and camps here at BMK is a crafting genius.  And this summer she has planned some fantastic activities for your kids to make and take home.  This week it will be making fairy gardens.  I’ll have gladly taken the excuse to use my new chainsaw and make wood rounds for the kids to use as the base of their gardens.  They can make multiple small ones or one large one to take home.  We provide everything their imaginations could desire and the woods act as the best resource of all as kids get to forage for items to make their fairy garden extra special.

In the kitchen, we’ll be tackling some treats perfect for a fairy garden tea party, the recipes will be tailored to fit the age and skill level of the kids.  So please put in the note section at checkout the age of your kiddo!  Kids will be working in small groups as this provides the opportunity for team work and helps with those who are anxious or nervous about cooking alone.  I do however, make sure that the finished product is only touched by your child to keep the spread of all illness at a minimum.  Once things come out of the oven, it’s no longer a team effort.
