Farm To Table Cooking Class



$60/person for groups of 6 or more people 

It’s summer time which means us Iowans are surrounded by fresh produce grown by hard working organic farmers.  This summer I am sourcing my produce for my cookery school from organic female farmers.  These women are part of a growing movement of women entering agriculture and I am excited to be able to showcase their vegetables. This private group class is a unique and seasonal offer which includes a full meal using 80% local ingredients only including meat. Simply get together a group of 6 or more people and contact me to schedule a time and date.  Classes last 2 hours and can be scheduled both during the week and weekends.  I will customize the class to fit not only what you want to learn how to cook but also what is in season on the farm.  The class is a mixture of both hands on cooking and demonstration with you being able to participate as much as you want or you can simply relax with a glass of wine or beer (you are welcome to bring your drink of choice) and learn by watching. You and your group of friends will then enjoy the meal sitting in our screened porch watching the goats and chickens play while surrounded by beautiful greenery and timber.   This is a great opportunity to get out of a cooking rut and rediscover the joy of cooking with fresh and healthy ingredients.  

In the spirit of supporting local businesses, we also will be using specialty oils and vinegars from Harvest Oil and Vinegar located in Coralville.  Coupons will be available along with sampling of their products during the class.
