Farmers Market- Honey Chipotle Salsa, Arepas filled with meat/or veggies-June 25th

June 25th

Learn how to make one of the top requested BMK recipes: Honey Chipotle Salsa, using fresh cilantro from your local farmers market or CSA or garden.  As always- this class series is focused on promoting local foods and sustainable farming.  Rainbow Roots Farm is proving veggies for the class paid for by SILT– an organization with the mission to preserve land for sustainable farming and to make land affordable for new farmers. Recipe for salsa: HERE .

We also will learn how to make arepas. Arepas are gluten free as they are made from precooked corn flour.  I order mine on amazon- here a link to the brand that I buy.  You can also purchase it in many local stores. The recipe is super standard, about equal parts flour to water, 1 tsp salt and I choose to add lime to mine. You will fry them in canola oil.   AREPA FLOUR

I’ll be adding the recipe for what we will do with the veggies or make it up with you live.  I don’t know this far ahead what will be in the CSA box.

After each class, I will post a picture on instagram/Facebook for you to then post a picture of your creations.  It may seem silly, but those pictures mean a lot to me and it’s been so fun watching your food photography skills advance!

Classes will stream live on FB and be available on demand there as well.  By joining the zoom class, you are able to ask questions and I am able to help you problem solve in real time.  I do not charge for these classes but donations are truly appreciated as these take significant time and ingredient cost.  If after the class, you find value and wish to donate that is awesome.  If you cannot afford to donate, but enjoyed the class, I ask that you share the links on your own social media or with friends and family and help me grow that way.  Venmo: @Becky-Schmooke or PayPal [email protected]
