Base Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 c whole powdered milk (nonfat is fine too)
- 2-3 c Powdered Sugar
- 1 bag chocolate chips-white, milk, dark, semi sweet… (reduce to 1 cup if using toffee sugar)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1-2 c cocoa powder
Flavor blend variation options/ideas
White Chocolate Peppermint
- 1 bag white chocolate chips
- 1 c crushed/broken candy canes
- 1 c milk powder
- 1 c powdered sugar
Salted Caramel
- 2 c powdered sugar
- 1 c cocoa powder
- 1 c chocolate chips
- 1 batch salted caramel toffee
Dirty Chai
- 1 c cocoa powder
- 3 c powdered sugar
- 1 bag chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 batch chai flavored toffee or omit and add 2 tsp cinnamon instead
- 1 c powdered milk
Chili and Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 c cocoa
- 1 c powdered milk
- 1 bag chocolate chips
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 c powdered sugar
- 2 tsp cayenne
- 1 T cinnamon
Starbucks Mocha
- Base recipe plus instant starbucks coffee to taste
Almond Joy
- Base recipe plus almond coconut toffee and 1/2 c shredded coconut
Use base recipe with any flavor of toffee to create your own blends!
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in food processor and blend! I often put the toffee in first to blend into a fine sugar and then add in rest of ingredients. I use an 11c food processor. If needed, blend chocolate chips and toffee and then mix in other ingredients in a large bowl. 1/2c of mix works for a large mug, but find the serving size that works for you! Store in air tight container.
