The art camps here are always special as the guest instructors are truly fantastic at creating a space for creativity to reign supreme. The week before she was to attend last year’s art camp, a truly amazing young girl passed away. During her funeral on the last day of camp, a memorial bench was created, led by two of the campers. It sits out in the BMK woods, and in her honor, I have created a scholarship for a BMK art camp. The Anne Marie Nelson Creative Arts Scholarship is available for a child who exemplifies her zest for life, embrace of kindness and love of art. Please contact me directly to apply.

This year I have two incredible instructors so that I can make this camp open to all ages and skill levels. Sandy Kreinbring will be instructing the younger group and with 23 years of experience teaching art in public schools- I have complete confidence in her ability to create something truly special. Hope Spragg (visit her website here) has taught the BMK art camps for the last few years and along with being an accomplished artist she also teaches at Preucil Preschool.

While I don’t have the details of the art projects each group will be tackling, the art will be done out in nature as long as weather allows. I’ll update with details once I have them- I want to give the artists time to test out a few ideas yet this winter. When not creating art, kids will head into BMK to make their own signature perfume and if time allows, soap- continuing the theme of creativity in blending fragrances. The fragrances that I use are the highest of quality and made without the common carcinogens found in others. The soap base is also free of sulfates and other chemicals that those with sensitive skin need to avoid.

Kids will get to spend time with the goats, chickens and playing in the timber as well!
