Microwave Salted Caramel Sauce


  • 4 T butter
  • 1/2 c cream
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. In a microwave save bowl combine all ingredients except salt and vanilla. 

    Microwave for 1 minute, stir then microwave another 30 seconds more. In total cook for 1.30-2 minutes. Make sure it doesn't bubble up and over the bowl- you don't want to have to clean that mess up. 

    Immediately stir in the salt and vanilla and adjust flavor.  

    Store in fridge and simply heat for 20-30seconds in microwave to make it pourable. Stays good in fridge for about 2 weeks.
