2cups flour 2 T sugar1 T baking powder½ tsp salt6 T butter cut into pieces (save 2 T for baking on top) 2/3c cup milk Directions: Mix together all dry ingredients. Work in butter with hands until in small pieces. Pour in milk, mixing to form dough. Add extra flour until dough is a soft ball. Chill for 20 min. Roll dough out into a rectangle. Filling: 2 -4 T melted butter½ c sugar (can be white or brown or a mix!)1 T cinnamon 1tsp vanilla Feel free to get creative with the filling, using cream cheese, jellies/jams, ducle de leche, zest an orange… nutella… have fun! Melt butter in bowl, add in remaining ingredients and spread onto dough. Roll dough from side furthest from you towards you. Cut into rolls and lay flat into baking dish. Bake at 375 for about 20min or until just about golden brown. Icing: 1 c powder sugar, 1/2tsp or more flavor, add 1 tsp at a time of milk, cream or water until you reach the consistency that you like. Make sure to taste and adjust. I like adding a bit of salt for a sweet and salty icing, especially if I add some maple syrup- salted maple vanilla icing…soooo good!
