Camp Description

Archery and Fire Camp is back!

Archery:

Along with learning the basics of recurve archery—like how to aim, shoot, and improve their form—kids will also dive into valuable leadership lessons and team-building challenges. This camp is perfect for kids who want to build confidence, focus, and responsibility while having a blast. It is for those who have never shot a bow to those who have done it for years. (Kids can bring your own bow and arrows but they are responsible for whatever they bring.)

Fire:

Kids will dive into hands-on skills like chopping wood, making kindling, and starting a fire using a knife and ferro rod. We’ll also return to baking bread over the fire—a favorite from past camps.

What makes this camp special:

  • Skill Building: Kids will learn practical skills such as fire-starting, teamwork, and leadership while practicing patience and emotional regulation.
  • Safety First: Camp kicks off with tourniquet first aid training and a focus on safety expectations. If schedules allow, my husband may be available to teach additional first aid skills, which have been a big hit in the past.
  • Small Groups: Kids work in teams to ensure plenty of hands-on time while learning the importance of preparation, delegation, and collaboration.

***This is a camp where I have extremely strict safety rules and it is a “one strike, no more knife” type of deal. It is by taking safety seriously that this camp has been able to continue for over 7 years. If you don’t believe that your child will be able to respect the rules, I ask that you don’t sign them up for this camp. This isn’t a camp to send a child to so that the can learn a lesson the hard way.

I will send out an email the Friday before each camp with all the information you could ever want/need- if you don’t receive an email by Saturday night, please reach out. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email of your registration that includes my EIN for tax purposes- SAVE that email as I do not keep them and will not be able to resend it this time next year when the joys of tax season is upon us. It also has the info needed for flex spending accounts.
