Last year’s pet treat camp was so much fun that we decided to keep the theme going this year by making art week all about pets! And while we won’t be painting with your pet or on your pet like what happened to the chicken in the photo- your child will be creating a painting of their pet. If your child loves art and doesn’t have a pet at home, no worries! They can pick their favorite goat or chicken to paint. **** I will send more info about what is needed as far as pet photo wise before camp.
The art camps here are always special as the guest instructors are truly fantastic at creating a space for creativity to reign supreme. The week before she was to attend last year’s art camp, a truly amazing young girl passed away. During her funeral on the last day of camp, a memorial bench was created, led by two of the campers. It sits out in the BMK woods, and in her honor, I have created a scholarship for a BMK art camp. The Anne Marie Nelson Creative Arts Scholarship is available for a child who exemplifies her zest for life, embrace of kindness and love of art. Please contact me directly to apply.
I am beyond happy to announce that Hope Spragg is back yet again! Hope (visit her website here) has taught the BMK art camps for the last few years and along with being an accomplished artist she also teaches at Preucil Preschool. Her art camps are always a hit and she manages to create projects that work for a wide range of skill levels. We are so lucky to have Hope as part of the summer out here!
When not creating art with Hope, kids will head into the kitchen to make some delicious edible art treats! Kids will get plenty of time to spend time with the goats, chickens and playing in the timber as well!
- I will send out an email the Friday before each camp with all the information you could ever want/need- if you don’t receive an email by Saturday night, please reach out. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email of your registration that includes my EIN for tax purposes- SAVE that email as I do not keep them and will not be able to resend it this time next year when the joys of tax season is upon us. It also has the info needed for flex spending accounts.
