Camp Description

This year’s Intermediate to Advanced Baking Camp is focused on mastering one of the most popular and rewarding recipes: homemade bagels. At first glance, bagels can seem intimidating, but once kids learn the process, they’ll see how simple and fun they are to make. Plus, few things are as satisfying—and delicious—as fresh, homemade bagels straight from the oven!

What your child will learn:

• How to make bagels from start to finish, including kneading, shaping, and boiling.
• Customizing flavors to create savory bagels on Day 1 and sweet bagels on Day 2.
• Confidence in tackling a recipe that initially seems complex.
• Teamwork and communication skills while working in small groups of 3–4 kids.

Why two days of bagels?
We’ll bake bagels both days so kids can practice and improve their skills, ensuring they go home with the confidence to recreate the recipe for their family.

Who is this camp for?
This is not a beginner baking camp. It’s designed for kids who:

• Are comfortable reading recipes and measuring ingredients (they know what 1c vs 1/2 c is, measuring cup vs measuring spoon) .
• Have some hands-on baking experience at home (e.g., using a stand mixer, kneading bread dough, or baking muffins or cookies independently).

If your child needs some assistance- that’s okay—this camp is all about strengthening their skills. The small group format ensures kids can work together, helping each other fill in any gaps while building teamwork and confidence.

• I will send out an email the Friday before each camp with all the information you could ever want/need- if you don’t receive an email by Saturday night, please reach out. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email of your registration that includes my EIN for tax purposes- SAVE that email as I do not keep them and will not be able to resend it this time next year when the joys of tax season is upon us. It also has the info needed for flex spending accounts.
