Candied Walnuts with Ricotta and FigsI am always looking for the perfect appetizer that can also double as a dessert after a heavy meal. These candied walnuts with ricotta and figs are bite size, easy to throw together and look and taste amazing. It is a sure to impress recipe and most importantly full of good, real ingredients.

 

 

 

 

Candied Walnuts with Lavender Ricotta and Figs

Ingredients

  • Walnuts
  • Ricotta Cheese see recipe index for recipe
  • Raw Organic Honey
  • Fresh Lavender
  • Organic figs halved

Optional

  • over low heat do not boil make a reduction from maple balsamic vinegar (if you live locally you can find it at Harvest Oil and Vinegar) and add in raw organic honey to the cooled reduction to drizzle over the ricotta at the end.

Instructions

  • Lightly toast in a cast iron pan or in the oven walnuts with some honey and a pinch of sea salt.
  • Flavor the ricotta with some chopped fresh lavender and honey. Place ricotta on top of the halved figs and top with a walnut, drizzle with honey and garnish with lavender
