Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate and Cinnamon Raisin Peanut Butter

I often lecture my clients and culinary students about how easy, cheap and fun it is to make things yourself rather than depend on someone else to do it.  And if you have kids, making something like peanut butter is a fantastic way to start teaching them to be confident in the kitchen and the joy they get out of making something from scratch is so much fun to watch.  P1040927Peanut Butter that you find at the store is often full of nasty oils, sugars and salts.  Specialty peanut butters are incredibly expensive and again can be full of added ingredients that make what could be a healthy snack or treat- very unhealthy.  You can make plain peanut butter in minutes and have a blast making your own gourmet peanut butters for the fraction of the price. 

 

 

 

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter, Honey Cinnamon Raisin PB...

Ingredients

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter

  • Peanuts the amount doesn't matter as you will be adding the rest of ingredients to taste
  • Dark mini chocolate chips I use the Enjoy Life Brand to avoid processed soy
  • Unrefined sea salt

Cinnamon Raisin Peanut Butter

  • Peanuts
  • Raw Honey
  • Raisins
  • Cinnamon

Double Chocolate Peanut Butter

  • Peanuts
  • Chocolate Chips I used the large chunk Enjoy Life Brand
  • Organic Cocoa powder
  • Unrefined sea salt

Instructions

  • In a food processor blend the peanuts until they turn into a butter (only a few minutes) and add in remaining ingredients and blend to taste!
