Basic Easy Chocolate Cupcake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add in baking soda and salt. Mix in the flour and milk alternating. Bake for 15-20min.

Notes

Use this as a starting point to any chocolate variations. Add a piece of chocolate candy inside. Pipe in peanut butter cream. Add instant coffee, coconut, marshmallow, graham cracker crusts, zucchini. Mix in Guinness or Baileys instead of all of milk. Add coconut, caramel, cookie crumbles and more.
