Sunday night just for fun post! One of these is Sunday night just for fun post!

One of these is not like the other...

What is something that made you smile this weekend?

Bantry has decided to take the roll chicken protec Bantry has decided to take the roll chicken protector. He herds them inside and watches them like a hawk. However- that love is sometimes shown by trying to eat them.

It’s a complicated relationship.

Poor fluffy head didn’t know what to do.

I’m still making my way through the around 500 comments and messages from yesterday’s class- I hope you all enjoyed the class and had some laughs!

Alright my Macaron bakers! Let me see your photo Alright my Macaron bakers!

Let me see your photos! Feel free to share what state/country you are from and if you have an idea of what I should name this interactive cooking show- share that as well! Remember you can view the class and past ones on my FB page.

This is a glimpse into what life looks like here right after class ends. My little baker jumped in to help me finish my batch (while sneaking one already done) and because this page is all about celebrating what real life looks like- this is the photo I’m using!

I hope you had fun and continue to spread the word with others. All donations go to fund scholarships for foster children to attend camp both on-site and online here at BMK.

I also offer private virtual events both cooking, speaking and my favorite- a combo of both!

(Join the FB group to view future free classes)

Now show me those macarons!!

Tomorrow’s the day we tackle French Macarons! Tomorrow’s the day we tackle French Macarons!

This pic is from a year ago when a group of moms gathered to share stories and celebrate vulnerability. While I can’t wait to have such classes in person again, I do treasure the the positives of virtual. Being able to hold vulnerability and resilience discussions with groups across the globe is something I never expected but absolutely love!

Macarons are the best for teaching edible vulnerability and resilience. I’ll chat with you all about it in class so swing on by (this is final class streamed on the public page- next week starts in the group).

Ingredients can be found on my website.

Are you ready to have fun with me? We’re going to laugh together and just enjoy the moment.

I’ll see you soon!

Anyone else need to bribe themselves to get tasks Anyone else need to bribe themselves to get tasks done?

Today was a full, long day on the computer creating 10 weeks of on-site summer camps and workshops for kids of all ages (including high school!). Those who get it- get it- while it may not look like a lot of work- it is!

The admin part of BMK is by not what I excel in. The people part- that’s just me being me- I love it and I feel like I’m pretty decent at it.

So, I must rely not on internal motivation but external to get certain tasks done. This meant not allowing myself treehouse time until I had finished. I made it just in time to see the sunset while drinking some tea- what type? I don’t know. I grabbed a bag and didn’t look. I’m guessing an herbal lemon and chamomile. Just being honest guys. What’s your favorite tea?

Do you rely on external motivation?

Camps will be out soon... very limited number of campers per week.
Theatre, art, debate, writing, fire building, cooking, farm... it’s going to be fun!

I’m open to creating virtual camps so those not local, if you are interested let me know!

You guys- this free class is not one to miss. I You guys- this free class is not one to miss.

I mean it. So easy. Life long skill.

Perfection is not the name of the game with this class. It’s about learning how to cook without precise measuring, embracing wonky looking tortilla shapes and simply sharing space and laughs with thousands across the globe.

Let’s see if we can reach a new record for the number of states and countries represented in this class- so share away and let’s celebrate the beauty of the shared human experience and carbs.

My classes are family friendly so bring your littles into the kitchen to join!

Because spammers be spammin’ I have created a group through my FB page to stream these classes. Creating a safe space where you know the people on the live stream commenting are real humans! Crazy concept eh?

So hop over and join the group even if you register on zoom because I can only host 100 on zoom.

Mindfulness Monday This one is personal, from me Mindfulness Monday

This one is personal, from me to you.

Today marks my one year anniversary of being free of bulimia.

One year ago, when I decided to make another go at recovery, I had no idea that Covid was going to become what it is today. No one knew we were about to experience the year we have. That morning, I simply decided to see, yet again, how long I could go before my finger was back down my throat.
For 20 years I started each day with the same determination to be done with the insidious disease that has haunted me since the age of 12. A disease that paired with type 1 diabetes has meant a level of daily suffering that would bring most to their knees- yet I continued to push on day after day. I suffered from intense shame and imposter syndrome- I was a bulimic, running a mindful cooking school. It was such a closely guarded secret that many close friends didn’t know of my struggle when this past October, I shared my story with thousands on my page. My fear of no one wanting to hear anything I had to say was silenced by an outpouring of compassion and this page more than doubling in size. Growing now by 1k each week. The power of vulnerability in action.

Shedding my secret allowed me to move forward with BMK with complete authenticity. And I haven’t looked back. This page is me. You get my words, my stories, my wins and my failures. Each week, I invite you into my kitchen to cook, connect and celebrate the shared human experience. I am not there to be an expert chef or polished TV personality, but as just me. I believe in the power of the lived experience and while I don’t have any fancy degrees, I know I have something of value to offer and will continue to share with you the lessons I wish I had learned years ago.

It's been one year since I made a decision that not only has changed my life but has changed BMK. It hasn't been easy. There are days that I white knuckle it- just trying to get through. I admit that I chose one heck of a year to do true recovery. But let's be honest, for those who have gotten to know me on this page- it kind of makes sense right?

POST CONTINUES IN COMMENTS
Fluffy head and the bandits have struck again and Fluffy head and the bandits have struck again and this time they let the goats out too!

A total jail break was in progress when I went to let them out this morning! All culprits were apprehended, fed, watered and spoiled with croissants.

And no, I still haven’t bought a camera to catch them in the act- if you have a recommendation for one, let me know!

Due to spammers- I will now be streaming free classes into a private group that can be found on my FB page. Join that group to view classes starting March 14th.

A special mindfulness Monday post is planned for tomorrow. I’m looking forward to sharing my words with you all.
